Job Statement
To develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the organization’s Quality Management System in compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and relevant customer-specific requirements, ensuring product and process quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: -
1.QMS Implementation & Compliance
• Ensure compliance of all processes with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain and update QMS documentation, manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
• Coordinate internal and external QMS audits (IATF, VDA, customer, and certification bodies).
• Track and close audit findings through corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems.
2. VDA 6.3 Process Audit
• Plan and conduct VDA 6.3 process audits (P1–P7) for internal processes and suppliers.
• Prepare audit reports, rate process performance, and track improvements.
• Train internal teams on VDA 6.3 requirements and best practices.
3. IATF 16949 Compliance Activities
• Monitor key IATF clauses like risk management, contingency planning, change management, and control of non-conforming products.
• Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan implementation.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSR).
4. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
• Facilitate root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) for customer complaints, internal rejections, and supplier issues.
• Drive continual improvement projects using Lean / Six Sigma tools.
• KPI Monitoring and improvement plan.
5. Training & Awareness
• Conduct awareness sessions for shop floor teams on QMS procedures, quality standards, and audit preparedness.
• Develop skill matrices for quality-related competencies.
6. Supplier Quality Management
• Support supplier process audits as per VDA 6.3.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions.
Relationship & Authority
• Frequent interaction with interdepartmental Employees, Supplier, Customers & Auditors
• Ensuring compliance to standards, change & deviation management in shopfloor.
• Frequent Interaction and data exchange with global team, participation in Global competence network.
Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent course in Mechanical engineering.
• Professional experience of minimum 6-10 years in quality in the field of machining.
• Certified Internal Auditor – IATF 16949
• Certified VDA 6.3 Process Auditor
• Fluent proficiency in English.
Skill and Ability
• Strong understanding of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards.
• Audit planning, execution, and reporting skills.
• Proficient in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC.
• Knowledge of problem-solving tools: 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa.
• Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Data analysis and presentation skills.
