Job Statement
• Role involves continuous monitoring of machining processes, conducting real-time inspections, identifying root causes of process deviations, and implementing corrective actions to minimize defects
• Roles for ensuring that all machining operations are performed according to specified quality standards and Customer specific requirements.
• Responsible for data management and data analytics, Execution of Structured problem-solving approach.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Continuously monitor machining operations (e.g., CNC, lathes, mills) to ensure processes are running within specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections using various measuring tools (micrometres, callipers, height gauges, CMMs) to verify that parts meet dimensional, geometric, and surface finish requirements.
• Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other methods to analyse process data, identify trends, and predict potential quality issues before they affect the product.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues, prevent recurrence, and improve machining operations.
• Ensure that tool setups, speeds, feeds, and other machine parameters are optimized to reduce scrap and improve product quality.
• Focus on minimizing variability in machining processes through adjustments to equipment or processes, ensuring consistent quality.
• Collaborate with machine operators and maintenance technicians to ensure correct setups and timely identification of potential issues.
• Generate and communicate regular quality reports, including statistical analysis, nonconformance data, and performance metrics.
• Document any nonconforming products or processes and initiate the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process to address and resolve these issues.
• Ensure that machining processes are in compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., IATF-16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific standards).
• Train machine Inspectors & operators on quality standards, best practices, and proper use of measuring tools to reduce human error in the process.
• Investigate and address customer complaints related to quality issues, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented.
• Provide feedback to suppliers regarding any quality concerns with their materials or components, working with them to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with the production team to minimize waste and improve sustainability in the machining process.
Relationship & Authority
• Frequent interaction with interdepartmental Employees, Supplier, Customers & Auditors
• Ensuring compliance to standards, change & deviation management in shopfloor.
• Frequent Interaction and data exchange with global team, participation in Global competence network.
Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent course in Mechanical engineering.
• Professional experience of minimum 5-7 years in quality in the field of machining.
• Experience in working with international teams.
• Fluent proficiency in English.
Skill and Ability
• Sound Knowledge on Problem Solving techniques, Quality tools and Improvement methodology.
• In-depth knowledge of CNC machining
• In-depth understanding of GD&T symbols and how to apply them to blueprints and machining setups.
• Advance level Communication skills, including Presentation
• Sound Analytical skills should be able to use analytical tools. Good attention to details.
• Advance level Problem solving skills, advance creativity & innovation skill.
Instruments Knowledge: -
• Expertise in using instruments like micrometres, callipers, height gauges, Microscope, Contour Graph and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to inspect part
Educational Qualification
